Tao Huyen Tinh
The adjutant of Que Chau who led troops against the rebels after the Protector Luu Dien Huu was killed in 687; the Old Book of Tang records that he captured Ly Tu Than and his men and beheaded them all beneath the walls of Annam, while the New Book of Tang has the man he beheaded as Dinh Kien.

Life
The old chronicles say
Tao Huyen Tinh appears at the end of the 687 siege of Annam, holding the post of adjutant of Que Chau. The Old Book of Tang records that after Dien Huu was killed by Tu Than, he led troops against Tu Than and his men, captured them, and beheaded them all beneath the walls of Annam. The New Book of Tang tells it more briefly, does not say who killed Dien Huu, and in that version the man Tao Huyen Tinh beheaded is Dinh Kien rather than Ly Tu Than, since this version has no Ly Tu Than. The Complete Annals writes his name with a different character, as Tao Truc Tinh; the Cuong muc corrects it following the Tang histories.231
